Highway Department

The Town Highway Department presently consists of four people on a full-time basis in addition to the Superintendent of Highways. Also, there are part-time employees used for roadside mowing in the summer and for snow and ice control during the winter season. All highway employees are hired at the discretion of the Highway Superintendent.

The Highway Superintendent is appointed by the Town Board and serves a two-year term. Highway responsibilities include that area outside the Village except for Snow and ice control on State highways inside the Village of Caledonia. 

The Superintendent also oversees the present Town Transfer and Recycle Station located on the corner of Middle Rd. and Daley Rd. Brush is also accepted at this location.

The Transfer Station is open from 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM on Saturday. There is a per bag charge for garbage disposal as well as a charge for other non-recyclables. There is no charge for recyclables at the present time.
